NTR statue centre and other areas and return to BR Stadium where dua would be performed for world peace.

Guntur: Muslim JAC Guntur, Jamat-e-Islami Hind, Jamiat-e-Ulama, Majlis-ul-Ulama and other Muslim organisations plan to take out a rally in Guntur on September 14 to call for a halt to the genocide of Rohingyas in Myanmar.

A meeting of Muslim leaders was held in Guntur on Tuesday which decided to undertake the rally to be followed by a prayer meeting wherein there would be a call for world peace.

Muslim JAC president Md Kaleem, JIH leader Md Jahid, AWAZ leader Md Akbar, Majlis-ul-Ulama leader Khawary Usman and Mufti Mujahid said that besides the Rohingya Muslims, there were Hindus, Christians and Kachin and Karen tribes who are victims of the high-handedness of the Myanmar military. They said that it is time to protest the killings with humaneness and not with religious sentiments.

They stated that Rohingyas and other tribes were being killed as a result of the genocides and as well as in their attempt to flee to other countries in boats and ships due to drowning.

According to the leaders, the rally would start from BR Stadium, pass through old bus stand, Maya Bazaar, NTR statue centre and other areas and return to BR Stadium where dua would be performed for world peace.
