HMDA report on Kapra lake on October 3

The bench earlier ordered the presence of the HMDA commissioner to explain the steps taken to prevent the flow of sewerage into the lake.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday gave the HMDA commissioner time to file a report explaining the steps being taken to prevent flow of sewerage into the Kapra lake (Oora Cheruvu) in Medchal district.

A division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice P. Naveen Rao was dealing with a contempt case by Save Our Urban Lakes, seeking action against the authorities who failed to implement the orders of the High Court granted earlier in a PIL for protection of the lake.

The bench earlier ordered the presence of the HMDA commissioner to explain the steps taken to prevent the flow of sewerage into the lake.

The HMDA chief appeared before the court and sought time to file the report. He was given till October 3 to file the report.
