New Delhi: The British High Commission in New Delhi refused to comment, with top British diplomatic sources saying they “can’t comment on individual visas.”
The Union ministry of external affairs did not respond. Even external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who responds to tweets promptly, was silent.
The development comes even as British Cabinet Minister Priti Patel, the UK's International Development Secretary of State in new British PM Theresa May's Cabinet, is in New Delhi and scheduled to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday. It is unclear whether India will raise the matter with Britain on Saturday at the highest levels of government.
