Krishna Pushkaralu festival helps AP to boost its image
Vijayawada: Krishna Pushkaralu is helping to showcase the brand image of Amaravati capital and the effort has started attracting NRIs.
A number of NRIs from both the Krishna and Guntur districts have started arriving in Vijayawada and Guntur cities to take a holy dip in Krishna River during Pushkaralu.
The Pushkaralu has gained added importance with linking of Krishna and Godavari rivers, attracting NRIs and people living in other parts of the country in a big way.
They do not want to miss the opportunity to visit their hometown as it gained prominence after being declared the capital region. It may be noted that the Chief Minister also extended e-invitations to thousands of NRIs inviting them to the Pushkaralu.
Santosh, a resident of Vijayawada and working in Beijing at present, arrived in Vijayawada city on Thursday, along with his wife and kid.
He started moving around the city from the early morning taking in the tastefully illuminated Prakasam Barrage, Durga temple and entire city, basking in the transformation of his hometown after it became part of the capital region.
Impressed by the change, he said, “This is a real home coming for me as the city has developed in a big way.”
A majority of the citizens in both Krishna and Guntur districts have started inviting their relatives and friends for Krishna Pushkaralu. Most of these households are celebrating the festival.
