Karnataka\'s Dharwad declares lockdown

The lockdown will come into force from 9.00 am of July 15 and will end at 8.00 pm of July 24

Hubballi: Taking a serious view of steep surge in number of Covid 19 positive cases in Dharwad district, the district administration has announced complete lockdown in entire district from July 15 to July 24.

The announcement was made by district in charge minister Jagadish Shettar on Monday after having discussion with CM Yediyurappa on video conference.

Shettar said the lockdown will come into force from 9.00 am of July 15 and will end at 8.00 pm of July 24.

The administration will issue lockdown guidelines shortly.

The minister said the enforcement of lockdown will be very strict.

There will be excemption to sale of essential commodities through door to door and functioning of MSME.

Inter- district travel will be allowed only in medical emergency cases and the procedure of issuing passes online will be followed.

Shettar appealed to the people to desist from crowding at prayer halls and places of worship.

In all, 1088 Covid-19 cases are reported in Dharwad district.

Active cases are 657 with only 398 corona infected persons are discovered. Total 33 persons are died in the district till Monday.
