As part of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Sanvad, Mr Modi interacted with members of eight women self-help groups (SHG) under the National Rural Livelihood Mission from different states.
Ms Shaheen, a community resource person, was among those who told Mr Modi of their success stories.

Mr Modi asked Ms Shaheen regarding her visits to different states and motivating others to join self-help groups. He lauded her, saying a poor woman from a rural area visiting other states to inspire others like her was really appreciable. He said Ms Shaheen’s motivational speeches had spread across India, strengthening self-help groups.

As many as 200 members of the self-help gro-ups were present during the interactive session. The Prime Minister appreciated the dress code that the women had for the occasion. Ms Shaheen has inspired many women to join self-help groups and develop themselves financially. She was invited to other states to speak to the women in the villages.

Ms Shaheen said she felt lucky to have been able to interact with the Prime Minister. Members of the self-help group from Warangal told Mr Modi how they were able to run their homes single-handedly with the help of schemes introduced by Centre. They also told the Prime Minster how women in their area had become socially and economically strong. Though the participants had the opportunity to tell Mr Modi of any issues they faced, they did not do so.
