Lucknow: Having failed in his fifth attempt to qualify for a career in the Indian Army, a youth in Agra committed suicide and live streamed it on Facebook. The 1.09-minute long video was watched by 2,750 people on the social networking site but no one reported the incident to the police or alerted his family.
According to reports, the incident took place on Wednesday when Munna Kumar, a science graduate, took to the Facebook to make his confessional statement before hanging himself. He also left a six-page suicide note in which he blamed himself for not being able to crack the Army entrance exam and disappointing his parents.
Munna Kumar’s family said that he had appeared for the entrance examination five times. Munna Kumar’s father Prabhu Prasad, a driver, had recently set up a grocery store for his son in order to help him overcome depression. The body was later sent for post-mortem.
