Upgraded railway ticketing application from July 16

Tickets will also be available at the regular counters.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway will introduce its upgraded mobile app for UTS (unreserved ticketing system) to issue paperless unreserved tickets for passengers travelling in general coaches on July 16.

The journey tickets have to be booked 15 metres away from the geo-fenced area of the train. Tickets will also be available at the regular counters.

The app is available on Google Play Store. iStore and OVI Store at all 554 UTS stations on the SCR network. Payments for the tickets can be made only by using the Railway Wallet (R-Wallet).

SCR general manager Vinod Kumar Yadav said users can install the R-Wallet, and avail five per cent bonus on every recharge. He said the app had several security arrangements to avoid misuse. It uses advanced features like geo-fencing which restricts the areas from where tickets can be booked to curb ticketless travel.

He said the users can opt also for the printed ticket while booking on mobile app, which will be delivered at the counters or in the station premises. Tickets cannot be forwarded to other mobile users, and it changes background colour daily.
