Kerala High Court refuses to annul FIR against ADGP daughter

The counsel for Snigdha has pointed out the contradictions in the government's position in the petitions of Gavaskar and Snigdha.

KOCHI: The high court on Wednesday has sought to know the circumstances warranting to annul the FIR registered against Snigdha, daughter of ADGP Sudhesh Kumar, in the cases connected with assaulting his driver Gavaskar. The police should probe and find out the facts, the court observed while considering a petition by Snigdha seeking the quashing of the FIR against her.

The court said the petition of Snigdha and Gavaskar should be heard by the same bench and place the matter before the consideration of the Chief Justice for constituting the bench. Snigdha has approached the court for cancelling the FIR stating that charge of her hitting Gavaskar was a lie.

The counsel for Snigdha has pointed out the contradictions in the government's position in the petitions of Gavaskar and Snigdha. The counsel for the government then submitted that the two petitions should be heard together and the court then decided that same bench will hear the petitions. The Chief Justice will decide on the bench.
