Kerala government opposes bail plea of Pulsar Suni's former lawyer
Kochi: The state government on Wednesday submitted before the Kerala High Court that Pulsar Suni, the main accused in the actor assault case, had handed over the mobile, on which he allegedly shot the act, to his counsel Pradeesh Chacko at his office in Ernakulam.
The prosecution opposed the anticipatory bail plea of the lawyer who represented Suni initially. According to the prosecution, it is suspecting the involvement of the petitioner in the disappearance of evidence.
The chargesheet had a mention about the Redmi mobile used to record the video of the molestation. It said Suni had handed over the phone to Mr Chacko on February 23.
After this, the accused went to surrender before the Chief Judicial Magi-strate Court Ernakulam.
The police had issued a notice to the petitioner to appear before the Investigating officer, but he filed a police harassment petition.
He contended that as part of his professional practice he happened to appear for Suni before the court. On March 10, DySPs K.G. Babu Kumar and K.S. Sudarshan came to his office and sought the mobile. The police also questioned him. He had divulged whatever he knew about the case. According to sources, the police may take steps to question the lawyer.
