K Chandrasekhar Rao ignores critics, Bangaru Telangana is target

Congress sannasis' indulging in chillara rajakeeyalu'

Hyderabad: Launching the third phase of the 40-crore sapling Telanganaku Haritha Haram on Wednesday near Karimnagar city, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said he would ignore criticism by his political opponents to remain in history as the caretaker of Telangana state for which he fought, and would achieve the goal of Bangaru Telangana to make everyone happy and prosperous.

After launching the plantation of one lakh saplings on a single day at Lower Manair Dam near Karimnagar on Wednesday, Mr Rao drove straight to Ambedkar Stadium to attend a public meeting where he was given a big welcome by students and Haram volunteers.

“I don’t care for their criticism, you also don’t bother about them. Congress people have no moral right to criticise the government that is committed to achieving Bangaru Telangana in a short span. They did not do anything for the state during their rule, but now they have started needling my government. They are sannasis (useless), let us not bother about them,” Mr Rao said.

The Chief Minister hoped that he would be able to fly over Karimnagar and its surroundings in a helicopter two years later and enjoy the greenery.

Listing out his priorities, Mr Rao said the government by the end of the year would ensure supply of protected drinking water to every household in the state, which would be unprecedented.

Mission Kakatiya and the new projects would irrigate one crore acres, which again would be unprecedented, Mr Rao said.

Referring to the criticism by Congress leaders on the death of a few goats and rams supplied by the state government, Mr Rao said, “When we are supplying lakhs of goats and rams for the benefit of backward communities at highly subsidised cost, it is quite normal for 10 or a dozen goats to die during transportation. Congressmen are making even this a big issue; there are nothing but headless goats, resorting to cheap politics (chillara rajakeeyalu)”.

Karimnagar will be like London, vows K Chandrasekhar Rao
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday reiterated his commitment to improve Karimnagar till it became a London.

Speaking at the Ambedkar stadium, Mr Rao said like the Thames in London, Karimnagar has the Manair river. “I will make every effort to convert Karimnagar into London in all aspects,” he said.

He said Rs 500 crore had been earmarked for overall development of the Manair riverfront and beautification of Lower Manair Dam. Another Rs 25 crore special funds would be released to build a world-class auditorium at Kalabharathi.

He said the people of Karimnagar had stood by his side during the Telangana statehood agitation. After becoming CM, he said. he had made it a point to launch all flagship schemes from Karimnagar.
