Hyderabad: Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy inaugurated a photo exhibition at the Akkanna Madanna temple at Hari Bowli in the Old City on Wednesday.
The pictorial exhibition has been organised by the temple committee to allow devotees a glimpse of the Bonalu festivities that took place over the past several years. Photographs of the last 68 years including those dating back to the Nizam era are also a part of the collection. The temple is synonymous with Bonalu celebrations in the Old City.
“The photographs cover different aspects of Bonalu festivities. We have put up pictures of various important personalities including politicians and film stars who visited the temple,” said Kranti Kumar, temple committee member.
Speaking on the occasion the home minister lauded the efforts of the temple committee. He also said that the state government has declared Bonalu as a state festival and is taking all steps to make it grand.
