Finally, Ramanath Rai visits Sharath Madivala's family
Mangaluru: Minister Ramanath Rai who has been criticised for not visiting the house of Sharath Madivala finally went to his house on Wednesday.
RSS worker Sharath had died on Friday after he was brutially assaulted on July 4. People were unhappy with Ramanath Rai as he had not visited the father of Sharath. Sharath's father who owns a laundry on BC Road, has been washing and ironing Rai's clothes for two decades. BJP and Sangh leaders had criticised Rai for not visiting Sharath's family after the incident. Finally Rai visited the house on Wednesday and spoke to Sharath's father and family members.
Meanwhile, Surathkal and Ullal which had witnesses tension, are now calm after the police initiated strict action against micreants of both communities.
Interestingly, Dakshina Kannada district is witnessing the longest phase of prohibitory orders in recent years. Excluding Mangaluru City Police limits, all four Taluks in Dakshina Kannada districts are under prohibitory orders since over a month.
