Our rooms usurped', complains Telugu Desam to ESL Narasimhan

TD leaders also complained how the TRS leadership lured 12 of the TD's 15 MLAs.

Hyderabad: The TS TD on Tuesday complained to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan against Speaker’s inaction over a dozen of the party’s MLAs defecting to the TRS and allotment of TDLP rooms to chairpersons of two committees headed by TRS MLAs. TD leaders, led by party working president A. Revanth Reddy, Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and others, met Mr Narasimhan and alleged that the Speaker was functioning against Constitutional norms.

“If the Speaker wanted to allot the rooms to others, he should have informed us and given time. The Speaker’s office is being used in the TRS’ vindictive campaign. This is not good. The Speaker has to protect democratic norms. We requested the Governor to review these issues and give instructions accordingly,” Mr Revanth Reddy said after submitting a memorandum to Mr Narasimhan.

In the memorandum, TD leaders pointed to “arbitrary” allotment of room Nos. 107 and 110 to chairpersons of two committees headed by TRS legislators and called it undemocratic.

TD leaders also complained how the TRS leadership lured 12 of the TD’s 15 MLAs “We petitioned the Speaker and the Election Commission to take action under anti-defection law several times but nothing was done. In fact, Srinivas Yadav who claimed he resigned as MLA continues to be a TD MLA but in TRS cabinet, which is atrocious. TD MLAs also claimed that TDLP has also been merged which is against legislative rules” Mr Reddy said.
