Nuns protest transfer of DySP K. Subhash

Subhash was transferred to Idukki Vigilance while Harisankar was shifted as the Kollam Rural SP.

Kottayam: The nuns of the Missionaries of Jesus congregation on Wednesday protested against the decision to transfer Vaikom DySP K. Subhash who investigated the rape allegations raised by a nun of the same congregation against Jalandhar Bishop Franco Mulakkal.

Mr Subhash was transferred to Idukki Vigilance while Mr S. Harisankar, Kottayam district police chief, who supervised the case, was shifted as the Kollam Rural SP.

Sister Anupama, one of the rebel nuns who are staying at the St Francis Mission home at Kuravilangadu, said that the transfer of the DySP may sabotage the case as the trial was scheduled to begin shortly.

She demanded that Mr Subhash should be retained in the same post as a special case.

She also expressed concern over the transfer of Mr Harisankar.
