VK Sasikala plea seeking questions for Fera case rejected

She approached the court seeking the judge to send a set of questions to be posed at her while framing charges through videoconference.

Chennai: Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (Economic Offence-I), Egmore at Allikulam has dismissed a petition filed by AIADMK (Amma) general secretary V.K. Sasikala, now detained at prison in Bengaluru, seeking the court to send her the list of questions to be posed to her when the court takes up framing of charges against her in a two-decade old Fera case.

Based on her plea, the judge on May 4 had permitted her to appear before the court through videoconference from the prison for framing charges against her in the Fera case registered by Enforcement Directorate and directed her to file an affidavit in two weeks.

She approached the court seeking the judge to send a set of questions to be posed at her while framing charges through videoconference. However, ED's counsel vehemently opposed the plea. When the matter came up for hearing on Monday, the judge dismissed her plea and adjourned the matter for further hearing to Tuesday.
