Mr Harish Rao was accompanied by finance and civil supplies minister Etela Rajender, ZP chairperson Tula Uma, Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar and MLC Laxman Naradasu.

Mr Harish Rao said, “Telangana was achieved for utilising water resources and the government’s aim is to provide water for irrigational needs. To do this, irrigation projects would be built across Godavari and Krishna rivers, braving numerous hurdles and obstructions created by many people.”

The minister alleged that the AP Chief Minister had tried to stop the construction of projects by exerting pressure on Union ministers. Mr Rajender lauded the Karimnagar MLA for striving hard for construction of the bridge-cum dam at Nagunuru village.

“Due to Kamalakar’s sincere and committed efforts, the dam is materialised. The government would allocate sufficient funds for constructing check-dams across the state as part of the steps to harvest rainwater,” Mr Rajender said.
