Karnataka: 100 cops in touch with Shashidhar Venugopal over strike
Bengaluru: Over 100 serving policemen were reportedly in touch with Karnataka Police Maha Sangha President Shashidhar Venugopal, who is currently facing charges of sedition for his attempt to orgainise a strike among policemen on June 4.
This was revealed by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police after checking the call records of Shashidhar’s mobile phone. They are now analysing the conversations to take further action.
A senior police officer said the majority of policemen in regular touch with Shashisdhar, are constables who will be summoned for questioning.
The CCB team, which includes 10 police officers, is investigating the case to establish the links between Shashidhar and serving policemen. Shashidhar has been in judicial custody since June 3.
