BJP has turned a blind eye towards corruption: Congress

There are many blind spots which the BJP won't recognize and they still claim to have zero tolerance against corruption, said Tom Vadakkan

New Delhi: Belying tall claims of corruption-free governance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at its National Executive meet, the Congress on Monday said the saffron party has become "corruption blind".

Congress spokesperson Tom Vadakkan told ANI that the BJP has turned a blind eye to numerous corruption charges leveled on its ministers and is refusing to own up nefarious activities of its leaders.

"Very surprising indeed, I have heard of people being colour blind, but a party being 'corruption blind' is very strange, because we have seen it in Vyapam; we have seen it in Chhattisgarh, the son and father are involved; we have seen it in Rajasthan, where the mother and son were involved in corruption activities. And then, we have involvement of Cabinet Ministers in the Lalit Modi case," said Vadakkan.

"There are many blind spots which the BJP refuse to recognize and they still claim to be have zero tolerance against corruption. The people of India are watching and let them realize that such utterances are out of place in public domain," he added.

Addressing the media on the sidelines of the BJP's national executive meeting in Allahabad, Union Minister for Telecom Ravi Shankar Prasad had on Sunday highlighted the NDA government's achievements in the last two years in office.

"No corruption has taken place under our government. Our government works on the ground of no policy paralysis and decisive leadership," he said.

The BJP national executive meeting began at Allahabad in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
