Telangana: Temperature soars despite rain forecast

In the early hours of the day, certain parts of the city received scanty rainfall. However as the day progressed, the mercury too rose.

Hyderabad: Despite the rain and thunderstorm warning issued for TS, Adilabad recorded 45°, the highest recorded in the state on Saturday. Ramagundam and Nizamabad recorded 44°C, followed by Medak and Nalgonda at 42ºC and Mahbubnagar, Khammam and Hanamkonda at 41°C. Hyderabad recorded 40ºC.

In the early hours of the day, certain parts of the city received scanty rainfall. However as the day progressed, the mercury too rose. The mercury levels on Sunday for the city is likely to be around 40ºC. However the city could witness thundershowers towards evening or night.

Thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana.

The IMD said there is a possibility of a heatwave on May 13 and 14 at one or two pockets in Adilabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Khammam and Karimnagar districts
