Bengaluru: Incumbent ministers in the city turned up at polling booths on Sunday with their families to cast the vote and exhorted more voters to exercise their franchise.
Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy was at Mary Immaculate School, Hombegowda Nagar. He denied that a rise in voter turnout would amount to anti-incumbency. On the EC postponing the Rajarajeshwari Nagar polls because of the EPIC scam, he said it was unfair. “I spoke to Munirathna and he has clearly denied any involvement. Even I believe so,” he said. Housing Minister Krishnappa and his son Priya Krishna, the richest candidate this time, marked their votes at the Holy Angels High School, Vijayanagar. Agriculture Minister Krishna Byregowda, after casting his vote at Byatarayanapura with his wife Meenakshi Byregowda, took to Twitter asking the people to go out and vote before it rains.
