Bengaluru: Political parties were eager to court the first time voters, who constitute the undecided bracket and would play a major part in swinging electoral fortunes. These voters too were excited about exercising their franchise.

“I am extremely excited and I have been waiting to exercise my right to vote since I was 18 years old,” said Rajesh, a 21-year-old college student.

“It has been made very convenient for us to take part in the election with the separate pink booths and the decoration with balloons has created a very joyous atmosphere,” said Ratnavalli, who cast her vote from the BTM Layout constituency.

There were also participants from ‘other’ gender who took part in the election. Ayushi and Laxmi, two members of the transgender community, said that it becomes extremely important for them to cast their vote, because they too are a part of the country and as citizens they too must play a role in shaping the future of the state.

Niharika, the daughter of actor and director Ramesh Aravind, a first time voter, cast her vote along with her parents. She expressed excitement and urged eligible citizens to get themselves registered as voters and vote in future elections.
