Faulty EVMs lead to tension in Chalavadi Palya

The officials fixed the problem it was close to 8 am, almost an hour past the scheduled start of the polls at 7 am.

Bengaluru: Confusion prevailed at polling booths in Chalavadi Palya under Chamrajpet constituency, Lottegollahalli under Hebbal constituency, on Thimmaiah Road falling under Shivaji Nagar constituency and some of booths under Pulikeshinagar, as electronic voting machines failed to function. People standing in serpentine queues lost their patience at polling booths 105, 106 and 109 at Chalavadi Palya. They were heard cursing the poll officials for the delay and even started shouting at them. “If you cannot set the machines right, why hold the elections in the first place, wasting our time,” they asked the election officials. By the time the officials fixed the problem it was close to 8 am, almost an hour past the scheduled start of the polls at 7 am.
