Farmer brothers aged 8, 15 get sops, passbooks

His brother, Niranjan, 10, has another 1.05 acres and received the investment subsidy cheque and pattadar passbook.

Hyderabad: Eight-year-old K. Nirmal of Timmapur village of Siddipet district has become the youngest farmer in the state. He received money from the government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme.

Under the scheme, cheques for investment subsidy will be given only to landowners. Nirmal has 1.05 acres of land registered in his name. He went to the Rythu Bandhu centre and collected his cheque and pattadar passbook.

His brother, Niranjan, 10, has another 1.05 acres and received the investment subsidy cheque and pattadar passbook. Nirmal is a Class III student and Niranjan is in Class V.

Their grandfather, Mr Bala Narasiah, had registered the land in their names last year. Their parents, Mr Naresh and Ms Kavitha, are farmers.
