AP land acquisition land bill awaits President nod

The home secretary Rajiv Gauba has signed the bill, after discussions with the home minister Rajnath Singh and law secretary.

Vijayawada: The Union Ministry of Law has approved the AP land acquisition bill. Concerned minister Ravishankar Prasad, after having detailed consultations with legal experts and officers, has sent the bill to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for vetting.

The home secretary Rajiv Gauba has signed the bill, after discussions with the home minister Rajnath Singh and law secretary.

The bill was later sent to the minister of state for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir who will hold discussions with officers and experts on Monday.

After thorough scrutiny, the bill will be sent to Prime Minister’s Office, on Monday itself.

The PMO is likely to approve the bill the same day, according to sources, and the bill will be sent to Rashtrapathi Bhavan the same day, for approval. President’s approval for the bill is just a formality, as it got already cleared by home secretary.
