Telangana: Pensioner says Nayeem's gang forced him to sell his 9 acres

According to the police, Pothala Rathnam inherited 10 acres from his father in Bhongir taluk in 1983.

Hyderabad: A day after five policemen were suspended for their links with gangster Nayeem, a retired railways employee, approached the Rachakonda police stating that Nayeem’s associates had forcibly grabbed his nine acres of land and registered it in their names.

The Ghatkesar police registered the case and transferred it to the Bhongir police station.

According to the police, Pothala Rathnam inherited 10 acres from his father in Bhongir taluk in 1983. His brother Pothala Narayana also inherited 10 acres.

His brother’s son, Pothala Chandramohan, and one Murali Mohan, who claim to be associates of Nayeem, accused Mr Rathnam of encroaching on their land and attacked him.

Mr Rathnam’s complaint resulted in him being ‘ordered’ to sell his land at the rate of Rs 20 lakh per acre, and he was paid only half.
