SHRC seeks report on cuffing

The State Human Rights Commission has ordered the Khammam SP to submit a detailed report on the handcuffing of chilli farmers.

Hyderabad: The State Human Rights Commission has ordered the Khammam SP to submit a detailed report on the handcuffing of chilli farmers before being produced in court.

The SHRC notice came after an advocate filed a petition before it on Friday.

In his petition, advocate Tera Rajnikanth Reddy stated that the farmers took the step as they were depressed after the sudden fall of prices of their produces and the attack was unintentional.

The Khammam SP was ordered to submit the report by June 5.
