I never went for private tuition: SSLC topper Poornananda

\"I am really happy. I expected to get more than 620. But 625 was a surprise,\" Poornananda told Deccan Chronicle.

Mangaluru: Poornananda H., is the happiest person. He is flooded with phone calls and wishes from his friends, family members and teachers after being knowing that he has topped the SSLC examination with 625/625 marks!

"I am really happy. I expected to get more than 620. But 625 was a surprise," Poornanda told Deccan Chronicle.

Poornananda was always a topper in his class and did not go for any tuition classes or coaching. "The teachers in our school supported and trained us well. Thus I did not feel the need for any tuition," he said.

Poornananda who hails from an interior village Hallangeri in Putur Taluk is the student of St Jochims High School in Kadaba. To reach school he had to walk about 1.25 km (about 2.5 km a day) till the bus stop and would travel by bus for about 4 km to the school.

"I am interested in science and want to pursue PCMB in PUC. I am yet to decide what to do later," he added.

Poornananda's father Vishnumoorthy H. is a lecturer in the Mechanical Department at Vivekananda Polytechnic- Puttur and mother Savitha is a housewife.
