Appoint vice-chancellors immediately, says MK Stalin
CHENNAI: DMK working president M.K. Stalin on Friday demanded immediate appointment of Vice Chancellors to the Madras University and Anna University and urged Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao to bar the state government from using the temporary administration to provide degree certificates to students.
It is doubtful if reputed Indian Universities and foreign universities would accept certificates without the signatures of Vice Chancellors, he said and added that this is causing concern among students going for higher education.
Even students going for research and those looking for jobs are facing such worries and parents are afraid if the future of their children would be affected.
Stalin said the officials should not be allowed to sign degree certificates as it would be a threat to the future of students. He said the state government is using a temporary arrangement for more than one and half years and this practice is damaging the administration.
