Hyderabad: L&T wants sop for 2BHK flats
Hyderabad: The 2BHK housing scheme for the poor in GHMC limits made headway on Thursday after construction firm L&T offered to build 15,000 flats.
Company officials met chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and offered to construct the flats at government rates but sought certain concessions.
L&T said if the company was allowed to use the ground floor for commercial purposes, it would be possible to build the flats at the government rate of Rs 7 lakh per unit.
The company has offered to build either G+9 or G+14 blocks and sought three locations to build the 15,000 flats.
The government has identified 800 acres on city outskirts and sanctioned aprovals to build 1.60 lakh 2BHK houses in GHMC limits this year.
The chief secretary assured company representatives that he would take their offer to the notice of government for a final decision.
