Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation extends deadline for tenders
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has amended a government order to revise the time granted for the submission of tenders from 14 days to seven days. This reduction in time from the date of publication of the tender notice to the deadline for the receipt of tenders is applicable to works having a value of up to Rs 2 crore. The time granted for the second call remains seven days.
For works having a value greater than Rs 2 crore, the time granted for the submission of tenders is 14 days for the first call and seven days for the second call. However in the Public Health department, the estimated cost value should not exceed Rs 50 lakh.
As per the previously applicable norms, the municipal corporation had to wait for 14 days for the first call and then another seven days before issuing work orders. This prevented the civic body from taking up emergency civic works, thus causing a hindrance, especially during the monsoon.
The revised rule is also applicable to works taken by the engineering wings of the department of municipal administration and urban development, and the Karimnagar municipal corporation.
