CM Pinarayi Vijayan, revenue minister hand-in-glove on HML case: V M Sudheeran

Mr Sudheeran posted his comments on the Facebook over the setback suffered by the government in the case.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran has lashed out at the LDF government for its inefficiency in handling the Harrison Malayalam plantation case. For the second consecutive day, Mr Sudheeran posted his comments on the Facebook over the setback suffered by the government in the case. "The Left allies showed their unity in accepting defeat in the Harrison Malayalam Plantation case," he said and added that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan were hand in glove in the matter despite belonging to different parties.

"When the national leadership of the CPM and the CPI failed in their mission to bring them together, here Pinarayi and Chandrasekharan decided to join hands in the Harrison encroachment case. Their first attempt was to oust Susheela Bhatt who as government pleader was doing an excellent job," said Mr Sudheeran. Despite writing several letters to the CM, revenue minister and also law minister, his complaints were never addressed, he said.

The government had failed to approach the case in right earnest, he said. "Even brilliant advocates would face issues in handling such a complicated case of encroaching 5.5 lakh acres of land by Harrison Malayalam Plantation and Tata. I had said that it would be better to bring back Susheela Bhatt as the government pleader which was not considered," added Mr Sudheeran.
