THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Muslim League national president Prof. K.M. Kader Mohideen came down strongly on Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he had created confusion among the people and urged to vote the BJP out. He was speaking to reporters here after the Muslim League's national council meeting at which he was re-elected to the helm. 78-year-old Mohideen who represents the Vellore Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu, said in the current situation in the country, minorities were having a hard time because "they are being targeted and there is a vested interest to eliminate the Muslims".
"Muslims are not against anyone. They don't ignore or sideline anyone, but still they are a worried lot. The BJP's second targets are dalits. They are being pushed into a state of confusion because there are being hurt both mentally and physically", said Mr Mohideen. Malappuram MP P.K. Kunhalikutty who was re-elected as the national general secretary of Muslim League said that the Opposition in the state was getting strengthened. In the coming days it would be reflected again, he said and added that the LDF Government was strongly suffering from anti-incumbency.
"In Chengannur, the fight is between the UDF and LDF. Initially the BJP claimed that they would win in Chengannur, but over the last several weeks, they have backtracked", said Mr Kunhalikutty. E.T. Mohammed Basheer, Lok Sabha MP from Ponnani was elected as the organising secretary and P.V. Abdul Wahab as the treasurer. It was after the death of sitting Malappuram MP E. Ahamed that Mohideen who was the national general secretary, was elevated to the post of national president. Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal was elected as the chairman of the Muslim League's Political Affairs Committee.
