Karnataka PU Paper leak: CID grill Shivakumar kin
BENGALURU: The CID officials probing the second year PU chemistry question paper leak case questioned a DySP and a police inspector in connection with the Biology question paper leak in Tumakuru in 2013. Meanwhile, relatives of the suspected kingpin of the racket, Shivakumar alias Swamy, who is at large, were also interrogated by the officials.
As there were reports that the police allegedly did not handle the Biology paper leak case in 2013, the DySP and the inspector who had investigated that case were questioned on Monday. There were reports that the investigating officers of the case were under pressure from a senior police officer to go soft on Shivakumar, who was also behind that leak.
“To know the details of the investigation and to know was there any pressure on the investigating team, a DySP and an inspector were questioned,” an official said.
Meanwhile, a few relatives of Shivakumar were also questioned by the CID. It is learnt that the officers sought information on the contacts of Shivakumar and also tried to know his whereabouts through the relatives.
DIG Sonia Narang, who is heading the investigating team, told DC that the focus of the investigation was to know from the where the question paper was leaked and who were behind it.
