Hyderabad: Firemen to get facility like police
Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy on Tuesday said the fire department was taking all precautions to prevent fire mishaps like the one that occurred at Kollam, Kerala, on Sunday. He said the government was providing the best infrastructure to the fire services department. “The department has issued nearly 80 notices to building owners for violating rules,” he said.
He said the fire safety week would be observed from April 14 to 20. “The fire department will create awareness among public on fire mishaps,” he said.
After launching a web-based approval system, the minister said business establishments and individuals could apply for no-objection certificates approvals and permissions online. “The system will enable providing the certificates in 14 days,” he said.
Responding to a question by this newspaper, the minister said that the government would provide infrastructure to fire services on par with the police department.
