Sudan national dies at Chennai airport

On Tuesday morning, Yusuf had arrived at Chennai airport to board a flight to Jetta en route to Sudan.

Chennai: A Sudan-bound 51-year-old passenger, who came to the city for a medical treatment passed away at Chennai international airport on Tuesday morning.

According to the police, Aawad Thaka Yusuf, 51, Sudan national and a businessman, was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Vadapalani for a month.

On Tuesday morning, Yusuf had arrived at Chennai airport to board a flight to Jetta en route to Sudan. According to sources, he fell unconscious soon after clearing the security check. Co-passengers alerted the airport authorities and a team of doctors from the Airport medical team examined him and declared him dead.

The airport police registered a case and shifted his body to the Chrompet Government hospital. Further investigations are on.
