Kerala made rapid strides, says Governor E S L Narasimhan

The Governor was all praise for the TS government taking up a gigantic task of land records updation programme.

Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan on Monday said that Telangana State had made rapid strides in all sectors since its formation in June 2014. At the joint Budget Session of the Legislature, he said TS clocked an average annual growth of 8.6 per cent of GSDP in the last three-year period which was much higher than the national average of 7.5. Telangana witnessed just 4 per cent growth in undivided AP, he added.

Mr Narasimhan said the Government had been marching forward with a rejuvenated co-mmitment for achieving the goal of Bangaru Telangana. “Revival of agriculture sector has been the highest priority of my government. We have created a new record of supplying 24-hour free power to all 23 lakh agriculture pumpsets in state, the only one in the country to do so,” he said.

The Governor was all praise for the TS government taking up a gigantic task of land re-cords updation programme. “About 1,507 teams took up this exercise in all the 10,823 revenue villages and completed it in a record 100 days. More than 96 per cent of the land records were verified survey number-wise and were declared clear of any disputes,” he added.

On the irrigation fr-ont, Mr Narasimhan said, “My government has taken up 23 major and 13 minor irrigation projects. So far, new irrigation potential of 16.64 lakh acres has been created and 8.97 acres ayacut has been stabilised.” He listed out the state government’s achievements in Mission Kakatiya, power, industries, handlooms, information technology, Mission Bhagiratha, roads, urban development, Haritha Haram, health, education, public safety and security and tourism sectors, besides welfare schemes like Aasara pensions. The Governor appreciated the efforts to promote Telugu language and literature through the recent World Telugu Conference.
