TRS strongly objects to rowdyism' by Congress; Cong alleges it was pre-planned political drama by TRS.

Hyderabad: The incident that took place in the Assembly today where Legislative Council Chairman Swami Goud’s right eye was injured by headphones thrown by Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, has polarised the ruling TRS and Opposition Congress even further and led tio accusations and counter accusations. After the House adjourned for the day, TRS members speaking to the media took strong objection to the “rowdyism” of the Congress member and demanded action against him Congress members alleged that it was a pre-planned political drama enacted by the TRS. But Congress leader in the council Mohammad Ali Shabbir and Congress MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy admitted that it was an unfortunate incident, but they were also critical of the marshals deployed inside the house who they said outnumbered the legislators.

I was also injured: Komatireddy
Mr Komatireddy Venkatareddy said that his action was not intended to hurt Mr Swamy Goud he said was a very good person. He alleged that the marshals manhandled them in the house and another Congress MLA P Rammohan Reddy was injured. He said that he had to go to hospital for a check-up. He said that they wanted to express their dissent in the House as there was no mention of farmers' suicides in the Governor's address.

Congress MLA D.K. Aruna said it was pre-planned drama of the TRS so that they could take action against Congress members. She said Mr Swamy Goud was not injured in the incident of the headphones and the TRS has played it up and taken Mr Goud to hospital.

TPCC president and MLA N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also alleged that the TRS was playing up the incident. He recalled that TRS members such as present Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao had tried to physically assault the same Governor Narasimhan when he addressed the state legislature in the erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh.

Opposition leader K Jana Reddy said that the marshals pushed his table and he had to sit on another seat. MLA T Jeevan Reddy alleged that the Swamy Goud incident was pre-planned at the TRSCLP meeting which was held on Sunday. Congress MLAs showed video clips of Swamy Goud seeing off the Governor where he has no injury to his eye.

TRS seeks suspension of Komatireddy
TRS MLAs have demanded the suspension of Komatireddy for a year from the House. Minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav said that they will initiate disciplinary action against Komatireddy for his “rowdyism” in the house. TRS MLC Palla Rajeswar Reddy demanded that Komatireddy should be arrested and criminal proceedings should be initiated against him for physically attacking the chairman of the Council, Swamy Goud. Minister Harish Rao alleged that the Congress had targeted the Governor and that Congress leaders had behaved like goons.
