Hyderabad: Former students of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad have signed an online petition asking Osmania University to award a posthumous doctorate on Telangana idealogue Prof. A Jayashankar.
The petition calls Prof. Jayashankar a “renowned academic and the architect of modern Telangana.”
The petition was signed four days ago and has secured the support of 91 persons.
Sasidhar Vuppala a former student of JNTUH who signed the online petition, said, “I strongly recommend that doctorates should be conferred on people who did their best for society. In view of Prof. Jayashankar’s services to the state, Osmania University needs to honour him with a doctorate, which would be a great tribute.”
