BENGALURU: A tiger on the prowl killed two persons in a span of 12-hours at K. Bada village on the periphery of the Nagarahole National Park, a tiger reserve in Madikeri district.

In the first tiger attack, Chetan (18) was attacked by a tiger and his half eaten body was found at the village on Sunday evening at around 6 pm. Striking yet again, the tiger attacked Raju (75) and killed him on Monday morning at around 7 am. Both the deceased belong to the same family. The body of deceased Raju was traced 200 meters away from where the body of Chetan was discovered.

Meanwhile, forest officials taken-up combing of the area and veterinarians have been readied to sedate the tiger if sighted.

However, sources said Chethan was with his friend Madhu when a tiger attacked him. Madhu tried to rescue Chethan from the tiger and his efforts went in vain. Soon after the attack on Chethan, the tiger disappeared. Madhu was treated at a hospital for his injuries.
