Hyderabad: After Cyberabad and Rachakonda, Hyderabad has started the ‘My Cab is safe’ initiative with Hyderabad traffic police opening a registration centre at Traffic Training Institute in Begumpet.

Motor cabs plying in the limits of Rachakonda, Cyberabad and Hyderabad Commissionerates have to register their vehicles at any one of registration centres, Kukatpally, LB Nagar or Begumpet.

“Such registrations help us to track cabs in case of any emergency. The sticker pasted on the cab gives some sense of security and confidence to the commuters. Under the “My Auto is Safe” project, 85,000 autos have been registered with Hyder-abad traffic police,” said city police commissioner Anjani Kumar. A notification was also released in this regard. The registration process will start on Friday. Owners and drivers have been urged to contact 040-27853722 or Traffic Helpline 90102-03626 for further details.
