Talasani Srinivas Yadav's son eyes Secunderabad LS seat

Mr Rama Rao reportedly brought this to the notice of the Chief Minister and the party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Hyderabad: TRS senior MLA and former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav’s son, Saikiran Yadav, has been aspiring for the TRS ticket to contest from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing Parliament elections.

Saikiran Yadav who completed his masters in Australia became active in politics after his studies and also campaigned for his father in the recent Assembly elections urging the voters to re-elect his father from Sanathnagar segment.

Sources in the party disclosed that Mr Srinivas Yadav had reportedly broached the subject about introducing his son into politics with TRS working chief K.T. Rama Rao when he was touring Sanathnagar.

Mr Rama Rao reportedly brought this to the notice of the Chief Minister and the party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

In turn, Mr Rao is believed to have discussed this with Mr Srinivas Yadav.

Sources pointed out that as far as the Secunderabad seat was concerned, the TRS had been in search of a potential candidate as it could not succeed in the 2014 polls and in fact, stood in fourth position with 1.44 lakh votes while Bandaru Dattatreya, the candidate of BJP and the then TD ally won the seat.

During the 2014 elections, the TRS fielded T. Bhim Singh, husband of former chief justice of Patna High Court Justice T. Meena Kumari, but this time it has been searching for a formidable leader to bag the seat.

TRS leaders pointed out that the TRS had won only one Assembly segment in the Secunderabad Lok Sabha out of seven segments in the last elections.

However, TRS leaders are confident of bagging the seat this time as its party candidates won in sex segments while friendly party MIM candidate won in one segment.

Also, the decision of the MIM not to contest from the Secunderabad Lok Sabha would be an added advantage for the TRS.
