Kurnool: Aspirants to Panyam constituency pose a challenge to YSRC chief Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy. The present representative, Gouru Charita, a close aide of late Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, faces a strong claim from Katasani Rambhupal Reddy, a five time MLA with a popular support in Panyam and Banag-anapalle segments.
Asked to weigh his chances of securing a seat, Katasani said that he was the candidate. “Jaganmohan Reddy has given an assurance and I had been nurturing the constituency” he added. He said no one need to harbor any doubts about his seat. He said party leaders Vijaya Sai Reddy and Vemreddy Prabhakar Reddy had been appraised of the ground realities.
On AP Chief Minsiter Chandrababu Naidu making a hue and cry in New Delhi for the past two days for securing special category status, he said that Mr Naidu lost legitimacy to rule the state. He betrayed the faith of people by aligning with BJP and jettisoning it only a few months away from general elections. It is like akettle calling the pot black, he said.
