'Getting views on how to fight LS polls to win': Priyanka after 16-hr meeting

Priyanka Gandhi will be in charge of 41 seats, while Jyotiraditya Scindia will manage 39 seats, party statement said on Tuesday.

New Delhi: After 16-hour meeting, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday finished her over-night meeting with the congress workers on the campaign for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections due by May.

"I am getting their views on how to fight these elections to win," the party's new general secretary said.

Priyanka met with district presidents and workers form eight Lok Sabha constituencies including Amethi and Raebareli.

The meeting began on Tuesday afternoon after she arrived in Lucknow from Jaipur, where her husband Robert Vadra nd his mother Maureen Vadra were questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on a money laundering case.

"I'm learning a lot about the organisation, how it is structured and the changes that need to be made," Priyanka said.

The other constituencies that were a part of the discussions were Lucknow, Unnao, Mohanlalganj, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh and Fatehpur.

In an adjoining room at the Congress office in Lucknow, Jyotiraditya Scindia held meetings with leaders from the constituencies in his charge.

Priyanka Gandhi and Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with Rahul Gandhi, had held a grand roadshow on Monday to galvanise party workers that gave Congress it’s most iconic leaders and prime ministers but has over the past three decades preferred other parties like the BJP, Samajwadi Party and BSP.

Uttar Pradesh is politically vital state as it has the most number of parliamentary seats – 80- and any party that performs well has a chance to come at power in the centre.
