Chennai: Missing man found dead in well
Chennai: A contract employee with Ennore Thermal power plant who had gone missing on Sunday was found dead in a well in Minjur on Tuesday morning. The body was recovered and police suspect a case of murder.
The deceased identified as Lakshman, 27, resident of Anna street in Minjur colony, worked as a contract employee with the Ennore power plant.
Police said, the body was retrieved from a well after the locals spotted the body floating and alerted the police. The body was then recovered and sent to Ponneri government hospital for post-mortem.
According to police, on Sunday night Lakshaman had gone to attend one of his colleagues’ family reception. However, he did not return home till Monday morning. His family members searched for him and then lodged a missing complaint with Minjur police.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, the locals spotted a decomposed body of a 27-year-old in a nearby well and informed the local police. The Minjur police sent the body to Ponneri government hospital for post-mortem.
The missing case has been altered to a murder case and has started investigating the case. The police are now looking for his two-wheeler and mobile phone.
