Explain RSS stand, CM Pinarayi Vijayan asks PM Modi

Pinarayi said RSS wanted to turn India into Mussolini's Italy and Hitler's Germany.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s clarification on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement drawing a parallel between Sangh and Indian army and for belittling the prestige of Indian armed forces. In a Facebook post, the chief minister said; “RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s comments on Indian Army are in poor taste, against Constitutional propriety and confirms our worst fears about the Sangh that it has no respect for India’s institutions.”

His statement exposes RSS’s hidden agenda to float parallel militias to wreak havoc and break national unity, the chief minister said. Pinarayi said RSS wanted to turn India into Mussolini’s Italy and Hitler’s Germany. “The parallel army he is talking about is what we in Left have always warned against. Now it has come out in the open through Bhagwat’s statement. Running down the army amounts to treason," the chief minister said and asked the RSS chief to apologize immediately to the people of the country for his treacherous remarks.

Pinarayi said Prime Minister should make his stand clear on Bhagwat’s statement which is aimed at belittling Indian Army and lowering its prestige. Even the clarification issued by RSS in the wake of widespread criticism and outrage against the statement also amounted to tarnishing the image of the army. The RSS through the rejoinder wants to establish that the discipline in Sangh was better than Indian armed forces, the chief minister added.
