Edappadi K Palaniswami, O Panneerselvam hail Jayalalithaa contributions
Chennai: Speaking on the occasion, Palaniswami recalled Jayalalithaa's valuable contributions in the field of education, health and social sectors while he praised her for protecting the interests of the state when it came to water issues with neighbouring states.
“Amma's fame would remain intact as long as the earth exists. Amma is still ruling the state and she grabbed the attention of the nation as well as the world through her contributions to the state,” Palaniswami said. He also recalled the “historic feat” achieved by Jayalalithaa when the AIADMK led by her garnered 37 of the total 39 Lok Sabha seats in the 2014 general elections.
Hailing Jayalalithaa as the “lion of the house”, Panneerselvam said his late mentor knew how to use the Assembly for the good of the people. “She roared like a lion and single-handedly managed the house. When she passed away, we felt like a boat struggling in the sea,” Panneerselvam said.
