VM Sudheeran draws parallel between SFI and Taliban

KPCC president lamented the current plight of Thiruvananthapuram University College which has evolved to be the criminal centre of SFI.

Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran has alleged that SFI has evolved in to a criminal gang who has become the spokespersons of Taliban. He also alleged that the LDF Government has so far not done anything on the Jishnu Pranoy case. He demanded that the investigation team on Jishnu Pranoy case be revamped.

While talking to reporters at Indira Bhavan here, Sudheeran demanded that state and central leaders of CPM should intervene to control their student organisation. Sudheeran said so after the incident which took place at Thiruvananthapuram University College where a youth who had come from Thrissur and his two women friends were victims of moral policing by SFI. It should be recalled that SFI national president V. P. Sanu had criticized the state SFI organisation for bringing ill-fame to the organisation.

KPCC president lamented the current plight of Thiruvananthapuram University College which has evolved to be the criminal centre of SFI. He also demanded that the investigation team probing the death of Pambady Nehru Engineering College student have to be revamped.

Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala blamed the police for remaining mute spectators when quotation and mafia gangs rule the state. He lamented that law and order were deteriorating in the state. In a statement here, Chennithala said three people were hacked to death in Alappuzha alone.

"Women and children are not able to go out due to the inefficiency of the police. When quotation gangs are unleashing violence in one part, SFI are doing the same act in colleges. Three youths in Kochi were taken into custody and attacked", said Chennithala.

He also alleged that many houses were damaged in a scuffle that broke out between CPM and the BJP in Palakkad.
