Hiremath petitions governor against Justice Shetty
Samaj Parivarthana Samudaya founder president S.R. Hiremath has submitted a memorandum to Governor Vajubhai Vala, urging him not to approve the candidature of Justice Vishwanath Shetty for the post of Lokayukta.
Supporting his petition to the Governor with records running into 66 pages on land purchased by Justice Shetty allegedly in violation of the law, he said the Chief Minister should act in a responsible manner by appointing an honest person to the anti-corruption institution.
Alleging that Justice Shetty purchased seven acres of agricultural land illegally in the name of his children at Gundiganahalli near Yelahanka in Bengaluru, he charged that housing minister Krishnappa had facilitated the deal.
