Bengaluru: A sincere bid to improve Bengaluru’s traffic by integrating different modes of transport, solving water, sanitary and garbage woes are some of the demands put forth by the citizens of Bengaluru. The Bengaluru Development Authority presented its Revised Master Plan (RMP) 2031 for the Bommanhalli zone at Kalyani Kala Mandir in Bengaluru on Thursday.

For the Bommanhalli zone, the BDA has devised three Revised Master Plans (RMPs). The plans were on display and the public have been invited to give their suggestions and views to help improve the plans.

BDA Commissioner Dr Rajkumar Khatri asked the public to give their suggestions and help BDA develop the Metropolitan area. Zonal meetings are being held and consultations are on concerning the Master Plan.

The plans are up for public scrutiny and citizens have been asked to give their suggestions to make improvements to the Revised Master Plans for Bengaluru Metropolitan area (2031). After the public’s suggestions are in, the plans will be put up on the internet for eliciting public opinion again.

Ganesh Murthy, resident of Bommanhalli, who also attended the meet said, "Lakes need to be rejuvenated and the 'rajakaluves' cleared." He also noted that “BDA has to work on more elevated expressways and peripheral roads to improve connectivity.”

The revised master plan stated that, "Bengaluru, the largest urban metropolis in the state of Karnataka has grown at the rate of 42 per cent in the decade 2001-2011. The Bengaluru Metropolitan Area is spread over a region of 1294 square kilometres."

When asked, Dr Khatri insisted that BDA was in the process of integrating all modes of transport including Metro, Commuter rail and bus services. BMRCL Managing Director Pradeep Singh Kharola was also present and he insisted that his organization would do everything in order to provide a world class metro service and connectivity in Bengaluru.
